adesso employees run for Clean Winners

adesso AG has donated EUR 5,000 to the not-for-profit organisation Clean Winners. The amount is part of a donation that the IT service provider has made for each of its employees who took part in a company run in 2015. In doing so, adesso is supporting the expansion of the sport education programme offered by the charitable organisation, which helps more than 350 children and young adults throughout Germany at 13 locations.

Some 200 employees from adesso’s locations across Germany took part this year in the Business Run in Cologne, the Rügenbrückenlauf in Stralsund and the B2RUN German company run championships in Dortmund, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Munich, Stuttgart and Berlin. For each of them, the IT service provider has now made a donation to Clean Winners, resulting in a total of EUR 5,000 from adesso for the charitable organisation.

adesso employees were able to choose the recipient of the overall donation from several non-profit projects that provide sport and health education for disadvantaged children and young adults. With Clean Winners e.V., they ultimately chose a project that aims to show young people new prospects and impart values through sport. The organisation offers a variety of sports – such as tennis, football, hockey, badminton or dance – as well as group weekend trips, homework help, workshops and more. Clean Winners was established in 1997 by former professional tennis player Carl-Uwe Steeb and tennis coach Stefan Schaffelhuber in cooperation with the entrepreneur Dr Hans-Dieter Cleven.

“We are delighted that the employees of adesso have decided to choose us,” says Carl-Uwe Steeb, founder and executive committee member of Clean Winners e.V. “Eighteen years of Clean Winners e.V. equals more than 1,300 children and over 5,000 years of their lives that we have helped make better. Through it generous donation, adesso AG is helping ensure that we are able to keep working at our locations and keep giving our many Clean Winners kids the hope of a better and more promising future.”

“A commitment to society is as much a pillar of our corporate culture as sport and being physically active,” says Christoph Junge, whose responsibilities as a member of the Executive Board at adesso include human resources. “The donation to Clean Winners gives us an ideal opportunity to combine the two things. Through its range of sporting activities, the not-for-profit organisation makes it possible for children and young adults to participate in society, helping them build strong personalities.”
