powercloud GmbH has been offering an open software as a service (SaaS) solution for the energy industry with its cloud platform of the same name since 2012 and is currently the market leader in Germany with more than 200 corporate customers. At present, powercloud serves eight million end customers and generates approximately six billion euros in sales. A further 20 million end customers are in the process of migration. The aim of this new collaboration between adesso and powercloud is to inspire customers from the energy sector to provide a better, faster and at the same time more cost-effective service as part of their modernisation efforts. In Switzerland, powercloud has gained a strong partner in adesso Schweiz AG to jointly enter this market in the future and serve Swiss energy providers.
powercloud offers the industry a powerful CRM and billing system for this purpose and supports utilities, municipal utilities and soon also network and metering point operators in meeting the IT and customer requirements of the future. As a future-oriented solution, the powercloud platform supports Swiss energy suppliers in preparing for the liberalization of the household electricity market. The company also offers the already liberalized business customer market a cost-attractive alternative to the previous standard and a simple migration to the cloud. This is because the mega trends in the energy sector – the energy revolution, e-mobility, regional supply and storage – need more flexible, cloud-based IT infrastructures.
Marco Beicht, founder and CEO of powercloud GmbH, says: “Cloud technology is indisputably the core strategy of the energy sector. Our platforms and services enable the sector to create new lucrative business models. With our partner adesso, an experienced digitalisation expert of core business processes also in the energy sector, we can increase value creation in the industry and provide better customer service there.”
