IT service provider adesso is assuming the costs for the infrastructure and ongoing operation of the WLAN network. “Helping these people is important to us. This step allows the refugees to use the Internet with ease at all times. We will provide the access page in both German and English,” says Christoph Junge, member of the Executive Board of adesso AG. Andreas Prenneis, also a member of adesso’s Executive Board, added: “We will also help refugees in other areas. From the beginning of next year, we will offer language courses at our premises and sponsor the required learning materials.”
DOKOM21 has already installed hotspots in other refugee centres at short notice in the past few weeks. Residents of the initial reception points “An der Buschmühle” and the Wellinghofen youth centre receive free WLAN thanks to this support.
